Polish it til you can see yourself, pt 2

I spent all of last week in the SF office, working on the current gargantuan Silverlight project. It was definitely more productive to work for niggly bugs and design issues in person rather than remotely. A main reason for the trip was to teach our visual designer a bit about Expression Blend. It didn’t start out too well, but I think he had a handle on things by the end of the week. In exchange, he showed me how to work the DS-10, which I hope to play with more soon.

By the end of the week, all the bugs had been worked out, all of the design changes had been implemented, and all was well. Then we had a meeting to discuss all of the other changes we’d like to make to make it more awesome. I guess that tells you something about Stimulant. We have a project that everyone is ready to quit looking at, has had everyone working extra hours (particularly yours truly), and is over budget. But we decide to spend another week polishing it to a shine anyway.

“Done” is never really good enough for us, and I guess that’s what makes the difference.
